Donor Advised Funds

Join Our Next CohortMarch 2022

Donor-advised funds (DAFs) began to grow in popularity in the 1990s because they enabled donors to have the infrastructure of their own grant making foundation without all the upkeep. While ease of use and immediate tax benefits have continued to drive growth, no one has truly modernized how DAFs function in over 30 years.

Our approach is to focus on unlocking impact in every aspect of our DAF, from enabling funders to activate their whole philanthropic portfolios to making the process of receiving funds easier for communities.

We launched our first DAF cohort in 2021 with a group of founding partners who wanted their DAFs to do more in building a new economy that benefits everybody. Our second cohort of empowered donors to drive social change is launching March 2022—sign up for early access!

Impact-Driven Pricing

Our innovative fee structure incentivizes deploying capital for social change, meaning we charge on money in the door and waive annual fees if you deploy 40% of your charitable dollars in a given year. Like everything we do, our fees are focused on creating impact faster.

Understand Your Impact

Our DAF program provides straightforward and flexible tools to amplify your impact, including access to an exclusive online Possibility Portal, which helps you:

  • Source information across the capital spectrum
  • Track your community-driven impact measurements
  • Easily integrate with your philanthropic advisors and giving community groups
  • Connect with movement partners to co-create social change
  • Simplify your grant-and investment-making (coming December 2021)

Investing In Racial Justice

Your DAF actively supports BIPOC wealth-building movements. While waiting to be deployed, your DAFs cash will be invested in Black and Native banks and Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs). They can also be used for initiatives like guaranteeing loans for Black entrepreneurs across the country.

Restorative Economics for a Just Transition – Nwamaka Agbo

Inspired by the Just Transition for Philanthropy framework, we encourage and partner with donors to move away from a traditional and extractive DAF towards a regenerative giving, investing, and deployment practice that can help us collectively transition to a solidarity economy. Alongside the standard tax benefits from more traditional DAFs, your investment becomes instrumental in funding change for BIPOC communities long-term and helping movements as they scale social and environmental justice.
